New Atelier!

Long time no blog! A lot has changed in the mean time. I've moved to a beautiful atelier-livingspace with my love in The Hague (a city near the sea). The surroundings and my atelier inspire me a lot, I've started a lot of new projects, soon more about that!

At home and working!

This week photographer Alwin Slomp visited me to portrait me in my workspace, for a magazine called CJP magazine. He really is a nice guy. It was kinda funny to see all the lights and a big camera in my workspace. The picture is going to feature in a coming issue of the magazine, i'm getting a copy of the pictures, but i have to be patient! While i cleared up my work area (for the photo's) i made some new collages, they just appeared organicly while cleaning.

Deze week is fotograaf Alwin Slomp langsgekomen om een portet van me te maken in mijn werkruimte, voor het tijdschrift CJP magazine. Het is echt een aardige man. Het was ook best grappig om alle lichten en de grote camera in mijn werkruimte te zien. De foto komt in een komend nummer van het blad. Ik krijg ook een kopie van de foto alleen moet ik nog wel wat geduld hebben! Tijdens het opruimen van mijn werkruimte (voor de foto's) heb ik ook een aantal nieuwe collages gemaakt, ze ontstonden organisch tijdens het opruimen.





Yesterday i did some eco dyeing again, it came out very well! I really want to have more time to do some more experiments. The sample below is a beautiful silk made from the cocoon where the butterfly flew out of, so they didn't end up cooked, animal friendly silk! And I got this dye-result just with plants and water, nature is amazing!

Gisteren heb ik een dag kunnen verven, het is heel mooi geworden! Ik wil echt meer tijd hebben voor meer experimenten. De stof hieronder is een prachtige zijde gemaakt van de cocons waar de vlinders zijn uitgevlogen, zodat ze niet gekookt eindigen, diervriendelijke zijde! En dit verf resultaat kreeg ik alleen met planten en water, wat is de natuur toch geweldig!

And I finally got some peony's, beautiful flowers as big as my hand. Also some photos of them below.

En ik heb eindelijk pioenrozen in huis gehaald, prachtige bloemen zo groot als mijn hand. Ook wat foto's daarvan hieronder.

great weekend.

I had a great and lazy weekend. I got the calm that I needed, spend a lot of time on the couch drawing in front of the tv. And I made a beautiful mess on the table with all the things that where wondering around. When we went out side we heard weird sounds and started to look around, we discovered a pair of parrots in the tree in our garden!! (parrot's are not native birds here in Holland) very suprising, they must have escaped from somewhere. They really have the right colour for the season we're in right now!

This week more about the new website, and i can finally continue working on the jewellery piece i posted about before. So more about that later!

Ik heb een heerlijk lui weekend gehad. Ik heb de rust gekregen die ik nodig had. Heb lekker op de bank gehangen om tekeningen te maken met op de achtergrond de tv aan. En ik heb een mooie rotzooi gemaakt op de tafel met alles wat een beetje rondslingerde. Toen we naar buiten gingen hoorden we rare geluiden en keken we om ons heen, toen zagen we een paartje papegaaien in de boom in onze achtertuin! Heel raar voor Nederland! Ze moeten wel van ergens ontsnapt zijn, ze hebben de perfecte schutkleur voor dit seizoen!

Deze week meer over mijn nieuwe website, en ik kan eindelijk weer verder aan het sieraad waar ik eerder over gepost heb. Dus daar later meer over!
